Players of the Month | February 2017

POM Page Header

Each month, we will be recognizing one male and one female US Youth Soccer Player of the Month, whose accomplishments on and off the field stick out among the rest.
The players who are selected will
represent a balance of athletic achievement, sportsmanship and citizenship.
Examples of these athletes' characteristics include:
Nominate Button_1- Impactful or notable in-game performance
- Displays good sportsmanship and the promotion of teamwork
- Community service
- Superior academic achievement
- Overcoming personal obstacles
While great performances in the game of soccer are appreciated, it's important to note that accomplishments off the field are valued just as much as those achieved on the field.
This month's honorees are...

Female Player of the Month

Kaleigh from Richmond, Ky.Kaleigh WEB

Kaleigh is a hard-working student-athlete who has been playing soccer since the age of 4. Kaleigh has demonstrated great dedication, awareness and support for her team throughout her years of play. Her unselfish attitude and drive for excellence has been key in helping her club, indoor and 3v3 teams to many successful seasons. Kaleigh and her team were awarded an Athletic Achievement Award last summer from the State House of Representatives of Kentucky. Kaleigh’s hard work doesn’t stop on the field, she is also a consistent member of the A/B honor roll at her school and she takes part in FCA, as well. When Kaleigh is not at practice or games, she enjoys playing soccer with her neighborhood friends. Her future plans are to play US Youth Soccer ODP and continue on as a successful soccer player.

Male Player of the Month

Eden from San Antonio, TexasEden WEB

Eden is a very talented and skillful soccer player who has shown strong leadership skills among his peers both on and off the field. His grades and behavior in school have demonstrated his ability to excel both on and off the field. Recently, Eden was awarded the Citizenship Award at his school and made the A- Honor Roll for the last nine weeks. Outside of school, Eden has committed his time to his 11U soccer team. In addition to his regular practice, Eden trains one day a week independently, plays on an indoor team and attends additional academy training. Recently, Eden was asked to guest play on his club’s 13U team for tournaments. Although, Eden strives to excel on the soccer field — playing the game he loves — he knows the true road to success is in school, and he continues to make education his first priority.
