Soccer Start, North Texas State Soccer Association and US Youth Soccer brought soccer to 2,000 RISD Elementary children during the Earth Day Celebration in Richardson, Texas. Soccer balls, shirts and backpacks were given to children in each class who answered a soccer question correctly. In addition, other soccer goodies were given out liberally to all in attendance. Soccer Start Family Night was held by Neighborhood Service Council Inc. at Spring Valley Methodist Church on May 18. Temple Shalom donated and served food while Sam Snow, Assistant Director of Coaching Education at US Youth Soccer, talked with parents, players and children. Each coach spoke to the crowd about the successes of their individual teams and they each thanked the soccer community for making it possible for the children to play the game.
