MLS teams support Youth Soccer Month
MLS, grassroots partner of US Youth Soccer, is supporting Youth Soccer Month this September. This is the League's fifth year to participate in Youth Soccer Month.
"Since 2004, MLS has supported US Youth Soccer's Youth Soccer Month initiative as a way to communicate the many benefits associated with playing soccer," said Neel Shah, MLS director of fan development. "We see Youth Soccer Month as a great way to support current players and open doors to future players. Joining US Youth Soccer in this effort is a benefit to everyone involved in the sport and I encourage all to join the celebration."
Six MLS games will feature the
Youth Soccer Month $10,000 kick during halftime. In 2007, a contestant was within six inches of winning! With at least six teams participating this year, maybe one lucky fan will win. Home teams will select a fan for the chance to win $10,000 during a halftime kick. Also, contestants will all receive an adidas prize pack for participating.
