| Indiana Supports Youth Soccer Month Oct 3, 2007
Indiana went above and beyond this September for the fifth annual Youth Soccer Month Celebration. Nine college campuses helped Indiana celebrate with 13 events and clinics. Indiana University held four events. A number of high schools and youth soccer organizations joined Indiana in celebration as well. North Central High School held the Great Midwest Classic Soccer Tournament, which is considered the “premier fall high school soccer tournament� in Indiana. The Chicago Fire designated their game on September 15th against the New York Red Bulls as the official Indiana Youth Soccer night. The first 5,000 children under the age of 14 received complimentary soccer balls from the Fire. The Fire put up a good fight, but couldn’t overcome the New York Red Bulls and the game ended 2-2 tie. continue...
Youth Soccer Month Wraps Up Oct 1, 2007
This year’s Youth Soccer Month was a huge success. As witnessed by the high attendance and participation at college events and the free youth clinics of Youth Soccer Month, America loves soccer! No wonder it is the largest participation sport in the country. What an exciting month! From President George W. Bush’s letter of celebration, the 17 official Youth Soccer Month State Proclamations, the 142 events at colleges across the nation and 24 free youth clinics by US Youth Soccer State Associations. Over 7,000 Youth Soccer Month t-shirts and 110,000 pom poms were distributed â€"" there was no question that Youth Soccer Month was celebrated across America this September. As the fifth weekend of Youth Soccer Month 2007 finishes, 19 host teams celebrate with a win. Fox Soccer Channel also televised the University of Tennessee vs. South Carolina game on Thursday, September 27, 2007. Two Universities see victories from both the men and women, and five US Youth Soccer State Associations help free clinics this weekend. continue...
Toccoa (GA) Gets Home Fields Sep 26, 2007
The celebration of Youth Soccer Month continues, as Mayor David Austin proclaimed September as Youth Soccer Month in Toccoa, Georgia in a ceremony with the North Georgia Youth Soccer Association. Over 150 children participate in youth soccer clubs in Toccoa and the city recently broke ground on a soccer complex.
