U10-U12 module joins U6-U8 module, Concussion course and Intro to Youth Soccer course on the US Youth Soccer Education Platform
FRISCO, Texas (October 1, 2012) – As the largest youth sports organization in the country, US Youth Soccer created an online coaching education platform to enhance the experience and opportunities of US Youth Soccer players, coaches and parents.
The first courses available via the online education platform included an introductory course to concussions, in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a course for parents getting into youth soccer for the first time and the Under-6/Under-8 Youth Module coaching course. Now available is the addition of the Under-10/Under-12 Youth Module coaching course.
The U10-U12 course takes the successful U6-U8 course and adapts it for coaches with older players.
To date, 40% percent of the member State Associations have adopted the online tool and are using the U6-U8 Youth Module with coaches within their state. All US Youth Soccer State Associations will now be able to adopt the new U10-U12 course. Those organizations deciding to use both modules will receive the second at a discounted price. The availability of the Youth Modules will be communicated by the participating member State Associations.
"One of US Youth Soccer's greatest strengths is its ability to reach every child in every part of the country," said US Youth Soccer Coaching Director Sam Snow. "We worked to develop this online education platform to help coaches everywhere bring out the game in their players. They can take the theory portion of these coaching courses online and continue that education with practical, on-field training."
State members of the US Youth Soccer Education Platform include:
||Texas - North
||Texas - South
||New York East
||New York West
These first 22 State Associations to adopt the platform represent the diverse and varying demographics of US Youth Soccer. The online education platform empowers each state to effectively train coaches, no matter location, at their own pace and convenience.
The platform features read-at-your-own-pace pages, video and document downloads. Additional curriculum will be added as the platform expands to further meet the educational needs of all members of the youth soccer community.
