US Youth Soccer Technical Director, Sam Snow, and South Texas Youth Soccer Association Technical Director, Neal Ellis, will conduct a coaching clinic for the Houston Dynamo youth staff in Houston this weekend. Youth coaches from around the Houston area will also attend.
Snow regularly travels the United States to deliver National Youth License courses and Youth Module coaching clinics, and has also held clinics for the New York Red Bulls and other MLS youth clubs that have hosted National Youth License courses.
"The Houston Dynamo invited Neal and myself to come down and conduct a clinic as part of their staff’s continuing coaching education," said Snow. "As a club, the Dynamo youth program utilizes many of the US Youth Soccer Coaching resources, such as the National Youth Licenses, Player Development Model and Skills School. Our clinic this weekend will focus on analyzing and coaching technique, specifically in regards to the US Youth Soccer Skills School DVD and Manual, and how to coach technique inside of game-like activities."
The clinic will be held at Houston Dynamo training facility, Houston Amateur Sports Park, and begins on Friday night with a classroom session. The clinic continues Saturday with a field demonstration in the morning before coaches observe a match between the Houston Dynamo first team and Southern Methodist University Men’s team. The game will be followed by a match analysis session, and the clinic will finish with on-field training sessions conducted by Houston Dynamo youth staff, observed by Snow and Ellis.
