The Administrator of the Year Award honors the extraordinary accomplishments in administration over a career. The national Administrator of the Year is announced at the US Youth Soccer Awards Gala, as a part of the US Youth Soccer adidas Workshop.

2008 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year
Carol Maas, Dayton, Ohio

Brief bios of the regional winners are below based on the submitted nomination forms.

2008 Administrator of the Year Regional Award Winners:
Region I – Laura Sturdivant – Bear, Del.
Soccer has been a part of Laura Sturdivant's life since her two young boys started playing over 20 years ago. Since then, she has served in various capacities within Delaware Youth Soccer Association and currently serves as secretary. Registering 11,000 players annually, Delaware Youth Soccer is a strictly volunteer run organization where Sturdivant does everything from process player passes and organize meetings to oversee scholarship opportunities and execute successful soccer tournaments at all levels.

Region II – Carol Maas – Dayton, Ohio
Carol Maas has been the state commissioner for Ohio South Youth Soccer Association since 2003, but her involvement in soccer started over 30 years ago when her children became involved. She has served as a coach, referee, administrator, and for four years, as president of Huber Heights Soccer. During the past 25 years, Maas has also served as president for a club she helped to develop, Warrior Soccer Club. For over 18 years, she was a part of Miami Valley Youth Soccer Association and served as registrar and as member of the board of directors. Maas has also taken her passion for soccer to the community and grown the game the by executing and developing several soccer events, demonstrations and new complexes.

Region III – Andre Burger – Charlotte, N.C.
Andre Burger is currently involved with North Carolina Youth Soccer Association where he oversees the US Youth Soccer North Carolina State Cup and serves as secretary for the North Carolina Hall of Fame Committee. Burger helped to found and administrate the US Youth Soccer Region III Premier League and since 2007, he has been the head administrator for the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program Boys Region III. He is a master at getting others together to work toward a common goal and all with a positive attitude.

Region IV – Gary Martschinske – Camas, Wash.
Gary Martschinske stepped into the soccer community in 1992 when he committed to coaching his son's Under-6 team. Since then, he has held numerous positions within the Camas-Washougal Soccer Club including vice president of competition (1999-2000), club president (2001-2007) and vice president of minis (2008). Martschinske's dedication to the game is shown by improving training for club coaches and managers, introducing TOPSoccer and the installing and developing of new fields. As a part of his efforts to grow the game, he is constantly serving his community within the local school district to provide more opportunities for youth to play.

2007 US Youth Soccer Administrator of the Year
Evelyn Swissler, North Texas State Soccer Association

Brief bios of the regional winners are below based on the submitted application forms:
 
Region I – Addie Mattei-Iaia, Plainview, N.Y. (ENY)
Addie Mattei-Iaia, from Plainview, NY, is president of the Long Island Junior Soccer League. Mattei-Iaia has been involved in the soccer community for over 30 years. She has helped grow the league to over 100 community-based clubs with over 70,000 players and has negotiated crucial sponsorships. A 22-acre soccer park was also secured as the home of the LIJSL with her help. Mattei-Iaia helped to develop a "no player left behind" policy for the league to ensure that all players can participate regardless of funds or disability. She attends league games regularly to support her coaches and players.
 
Region II - Donna Kaminsky, Overland Park, Kan.
Donna Kaminsky, of Overland Park, Kansas, started volunteering when her oldest son began playing soccer 25 years ago. She began her work on the Shawnee Soccer Club's Board of Directors handling publicity and coordinating summer day camps. She is currently the chairperson of the Kansas State US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program Committee. She attends meetings both regional and national meetings as well as drafting the annual budget, policies and procedures. She has worked to increase awareness of the Kansas State Youth Soccer Association by increasing its programs and to grow the game.
 
Region III - Evelyn Swissler, Lubbock, Texas (NTX)
Evelyn Swissler, from Lubbock, TX, started volunteering in the Lubbock Soccer Association in 1984 and has increased her responsibilities from the Girl's Commissioner of the club to the North Texas Soccer Youth Commissioner since 1996. Swissler accepted the position as administrative assistant and registrar with the Lubbock Soccer Association in 1988 and still holds the position today. During this time, Lubbock has maintained steady growth. She has also served as the chairperson for the US Youth Soccer Region III President's Cup and has supported other US Youth Soccer programs such as hosting the Kohl's US Youth Soccer American Cup.
 
Region IV was not provided any nominees for consideration for Administrator of the Year.
