Hall of Fame Inductee Wayne L. “Chris” Christoffersen
Wayne L. "Chris" Christoffersen, 2010 Hall of Fame inductee, Administrator
Wayne L. "Chris" Christoffersen was a founding member and the first president of the Kansas State Youth Soccer Association, a proud member of US Youth Soccer. Prior to the formation of the State Association, he was the vice president of the Heart of America Soccer Association.
Christoffersen has served US Youth Soccer committees including the high school relations committee and appeals committee (1985-1990, chairman 1986-1990).
He was the US Youth Soccer Region II Director from 1994 to 2006, serving on the board of directors. Christoffersen was able to bring people with different opinions together to work toward the best solution for everyone. In all of Christoffersen's contributions to soccer he is known for his hands on approach in all efforts. His vision was for recreational players to receive the same benefits as elite players, which led to his innovative ideas and ways of thinking.
During this time, Region II started the US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional League. It is only fitting that Christoffersen is still active in US Youth Soccer as the chairman of the US Youth Soccer National League, a league in which teams earn their way in through success in regional leagues.
From 1990-1994, Christoffersen was the chairman of the U.S. Soccer Federation appeals committee. He is a life member of U.S. Soccer.
