Adele Dolansky, 2011 Hall of Fame Inductee, Administrator

AdelePicAdele Dolansky began her dedication to youth soccer three decades ago when she first became coach for the Fairfax Police Youth Club. Since that time, Dolansky's volunteer service to youth soccer in Virginia, Region I and beyond has impacted countless youth soccer players.

For 20 years, Dolansky served as the president of the Washington Area Girls Soccer League, beginning in 1977. Dolansky was also president of the Virginia Youth Soccer Association from 1985-1994. During that time, Dolansky fought to provide female soccer players in the area the same opportunities as their male counterparts.

Dolansky successfully led efforts to include girls teams in the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association state championships. Similarly, Dolansky was instrumental in providing uniforms for the Virginia girls teams in the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program, as they had previously received used boys jerseys. Dolansky not only secured jerseys for the girls, but ensured that they were given time on the best fields in the area and referees at all their games.

Dolansky has also been a critical leader in the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, serving as chair of the Region I Championships since 1985. To recognize her commitment to this event, the Under-16 Region I championship trophy was named the Adele Dolansky Trophy in 2009.

In 1994, Dolansky was elected as one of the inaugural members of the USSF Soccer Foundation. She was inducted into the US Youth Soccer Region I Hall of Fame in 2009.
