FRISCO, Texas (May 24, 2014) - The 2014 US Youth Soccer Region I Presidents Cup takes place Memorial Day weekend in Slippery Rock, Pa. Boys and Girls teams from US Youth Soccer Region I (East) will compete from May 24-26 in hopes of advancing to the 2014 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup

The tournament will feature 96 US Youth Soccer teams, in the Under-12 through Under-17 age groups, competing for a regional title.  Winners from the Under-13 through Under-17 age groups will earn a berth to the 2014 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup, July 10-13 in Greenville, S.C.  

Preliminary games will take place Saturday, May 24 through Sunday, May 25. Semifinal matches will take place on May 25 for the following age groups: U-12G, U-13G, U-16G, U-17G, U-12B and U-16B. Regional champions will be crowned following final matches on Monday, May 26. Games will take place at Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock High School, Dicks Sportsplex and North Boundary Park.

Pennsylvania West Soccer Association will host the event, and the other 14 State Associations represented include Connecticut, Delaware, Eastern New York, New York West, Eastern Pennsylvania, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup is designed for teams seeking additional challenges to play for a national title against teams of similar abilities. The cup provides a progressive, competitive experience to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community from the state to regional to national levels of US Youth Soccer.
