2018-19 Desert Conference standings taking shape after November play dates

FRISCO, Texas (Nov. 27, 2018) — For the first time this season, all age groups, comprised of 144 Boys and Girls teams, competed at the same time in the 2018-19 US Youth Soccer National League Desert Conference. 

Teams played Nov. 16-18 at the Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix, Ariz. It marked the second Desert Conference event for the 60 12U-14U Boys and Girls teams and the first Desert Conference event for 84 15U-19U Boys and Girls teams. The final Desert Conference event will be held March 1-3 in Las Vegas, Nev. 

This year's Desert Conference will see 144 teams from Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and Utah competing for a spot at the 2019 US Youth Soccer Far West Regionals in Boise, Idaho. Additionally, teams participating in the 13U-18U age groups have the opportunity to qualify for the 2019-20 season of the US Youth Soccer National League (national tier).

Team Performance Highlights:

12U Boys - FBSL Tuzos 07 (AZ), group leaders with 16 points, saw their five-match winning streak come to an end in a draw on Sunday. 

13U Boys - La Roca 06 (UT) and Phoenix Rising FC Youth Soccer 06 (AZ) both went 3-0 and lead the division with 15 points apiece. 

14U Boys - LVSA 05 (NV) went 3-0 and they leads the division with 16 points. LVSA’s first victory on Friday was against La Roca 05 (UT), which sits second with 13 points. 

15U Boys - Downtown LVSC 04 (NV), SC del Sol 04 (AZ) and AFC Apex 04 (UT) all went 3-0 and lead the division. Downtown LVSC 04 led all boys teams in Phoenix with 16 goals scored. 

16U Boys - RSL-AZ Southern Arizona 03 (AZ) and LVSA 03 (NV), the defending 2017-18 Desert Conference champion, both put in dominant performances and lead the group with nine points apiece. 

17U Boys - Sparta B02 (UT) scored 11 goals, and it leads the group with nine points. Not far off the pace is FBSL Tuzos 02 (AZ) and Barca Academy 02 (AZ), who have six points apiece. 

18U Boys - Sparta B01 (UT) picked up where they left off last year and won all three matches to lead the group. Trailing is LVSA 01 (NV) and Utah Rangers FC 01 (UT) with six points apiece. 

19U Boys - AFC Apex 00 (UT) enjoyed a strong weekend, going 3-0. They sit in first place and on their heels is Sparta United 00 (UT) who won their final two matches after earning a draw in the opening match. 

12U Girls - Wasatch SC 07 (UT) put in yet another dominant performance - scoring 11 goals and conceding zero. Through two Desert Conference events, they have won all six matches and have yet to concede a goal. 

13U Girls - Albion SCLV 06 (NV) lead the group with 16 points after another strong weekend of play. Trailing them is La Roca 06 (UT) with 14 points and LVSA 06 (NV) with 13 points.

14U Girls - Broomfield Blast SC 05 (CO), group leaders with 16 points, created some distance between themselves and second place after winning all three matches this past weekend. In second is Forza FC 05 (UT) who have 12 points. 

15U Girls - LVSA 04 (NV), Pride SC 04 (CO), and Celtic 04 (UT) all went 3-0 and lead the division. LVSA are the defending 2017-18 Desert Conference champion and Celtic 04 finished the 2017-18 Desert Conference as the runner-up. 

16U Girls - LVSA 03 (NV), defending 2017-18 Desert Conference champion, went 3-0 and have a five point lead over five second place teams who all went 1-1-1. 

17U Girls - Utah Soccer Alliance 02 (UT), Pride SC 02 (CO), and Sparta United 02 (UT) all put in strong defensive performances - each team allowed less than two goals all weekend. They all lead the group with nine points. 

18U Girls - LA Roca 01 (UT) went 3-0 and lead the group with nine points. On their heels is RSL-AZ Southern Arizona 01 (AZ) with seven points.
