2018 Midwest Regional Championship Teams Recognized for Good Sportsmanship with US Youth Soccer Fair Play Awards

FRISCO, Texas (June 29, 2018) — As the 2018 US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Championships took place in Westfield, Ind., June 22-27, teams were acknowledged for their displays of good sportsmanship throughout the event.

Recipients of the US Youth Soccer Fair Play Award, as selected by referees and the US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Championships Committee, are recognized for displaying positive conduct on the field toward their opponents and game officials throughout the competition.

US Youth Soccer is reinforcing their commitment to good sportsmanship by promoting the Fair Play Award at the 2018 US Youth Soccer Regional and National Championships.

The Fair Play Award is presented to the teams that best exhibit the Fair Play ideals in each age group at the regional and national levels of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series.

The US Youth Soccer National Championship Series offers a window of opportunity to the future of American soccer, and each year America’s best youth players lace up their boots to compete in the oldest and most prestigious championships in youth soccer — The US Youth Soccer National Championships.

Regional winners earn a berth to the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Championships, set for July 23-29 at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas. The US Youth Soccer National Championships consists of US Youth Soccer Regional Champions in the 13U through 19U Boys and Girls age groups, as well as the US Youth Soccer National League qualifiers in the 14U through 18U Boys and Girls age groups to complete the field of 96 teams.
