Greenville, S.C. (June 14, 2018) – The 2018 US Youth Soccer South Presidents Cup continues in Greenville, S.C. The five-day event, which takes place June 13-17, kicked off Wednesday with 13U through 18U Boys and Girls teams starting the action at the MeSA Soccer Complex.

The event features more than 130 US Youth Soccer boys and girls teams competing for a regional title and a chance to advance to the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup, July 11-15 in Westfield, Ind

Preliminary games will continue through Friday, June 15. Semifinal matches will take place on Saturday, June 16. Regional champions will be crowned following final matches on Sunday, June 17.

South Carolina Youth Soccer Association will host the event, and the 11 other State Associations represented include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Texas, Oklahoma, South Texas and Tennessee.

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup offers teams the challenge of experiencing different types of play by competing from state to regional to national levels. The Presidents Cup provides teams with a progressive, competitive experience that highlights competition, camaraderie and community.

13-Under Boys
Warner ASG Copa (FL) is positioned at the top of Group A after a 3-1 win against 2005 Bulls Elite (SC). After scoring seven times on the first day of play, Georgia Express 05 Genoa (GA) continued to be familiarized with the back of the net in a 4-0 win against Crossroads SA Pride 05 (LA). Highlanders Blue (OK) defeated Gulf Coast Rangers 05 Blue (AL) 5-2, while FC Dallas RGV 05 Red (TX-S) earned a 2-0 win over Music City Pachuca SC 05/06 (TN). 05 TESC Elite Red (NC) secured its first points of the tournament in a 2-0 win against IFC 05 Red (MS).

14-Under Girls
04 CVYSA Blast Blue (NC) is all alone at the top of Group A after edging out AR United 04 Navy (AR) 2-1 on the second day of play. OK Energy FC Central Green (OK) earned a 2-0 win against SG1 04 Black (TX-S) in the other Group A match. In Group B, Lee County Strikers (FL) won its second match and a trip to the semifinals in a 6-0 victory against Baton Rouge SC Red (LA). 04 WCWAA Black (NC) defeated FC Dallas WTX (TX-N) 2-1 in a match with all three goals occurring in the second half, while in the other Group C match, Germantown TN Legends (TN) defeated Aiken Futbol Club Sharks (SC) 3-1.

15-Under Boys
ID Real Juve (TX-S) scored five goals for the second straight game in a 5-0 win over Baton Rouge SC Maroon (LA). In the other Group A match, MST PSG (FL) moved into a second-place tie with OEFC East (OK) after defeating the Oklahoma side 1-0. 03 CVYSA Blast Blue (NC) earned a second-straight win with a 3-1 victory over DSC 03 Green Predator (SC), while ISC 03 Elite (TN) edged out Alianza Elite 03 (GA) 1-0 in the other Group B match. In Group C, Metro Jackson United (MS) took sole possession of first place after a 3-2 win over AR United 03 Navy (AR), while CFA Pachuca United 03 (SC) and Real GP 03 Rodriguez (TX-N) battled to a 2-2 draw on the second day of play.

16-Under Girls
Lakewood Rush 02/03 Black (AR) and Midsouth FC 02/03 Blue (TN) remain at the top of Group A after both sides earned their second win in as many days as Lakewood defeated Mandeville SC Lakers Premier (LA) 4-1, while Midsouth won 1-0 against Lonestar 02 East (TX-S). Alliance SC 02 Elite (GA) now holds sole possession of first place in Group B after a goal infused 4-3 win against 02 WCWAA Black (NC) in a battle of 1-0 teams. In the other Group B match, Bulls 02 Elite (SC) won 2-0 against Lonestar White North (TX-S). Mutiny FC 02 White (TX-N) and Florida Celtic SC (FL) still sit at the top of Group C after two first-half goals resulted in a 1-1 tie, while OK Energy West 02 (OK) and GPS Lexington SA 02 Gold (SC) drew 2-2 in the other Group C match.

17-Under Boys
Brownsville Galaxy (TX-S) remained at the top of Group A after a 4-1 win over FC Tampa Newcastle (FL), while SSC 01 Select White (SC) won big over fellow South Carolina side CESA 01 Challenge (SC) in the other Group A match. CSA 01 Lobos Rush Elite (TN) and OEFC East 01 Green (OK) are positioned at the top of Group B after Lobos drew Arkansas Storm (AR) 1-1 and OEFC defeated Athens United 01 Gold (GA) 1-0. 01 WHYFC Blue (NC) moved to the top of Group C with a 5-4 win OU United (TX-N) in one of the wildest matches of the tournament. In the other Group C match, Louisiana Fire Juniors Westbank (LA) notched its first win of the tournament 6-1 over Trussville Fire 01 (AL).

18-Under Girls
Real Arkansas 00 Gold (AR) and Liverpool 00 Rush (TX-N) will play tomorrow with a finals spot on the line after both sides earned their second consecutive victories. Real Arkansas won 4-1 against MAYS Strikers 00 Premier (GA), while Liverpool earned a 2-0 victory against CESA Tri-County 00 Select (SC). In Group B, 00 CUFC Gold (NC) joins JFC 00 Lady Wolves (TN) at the top of the division after a 4-2 win against Mako PSL United Blue (FL), and South Bell Select 00 (TX-S) edged out WFC (AL) 1-0.
