The US Youth Soccer Spring 2020 season is underway for the Great Lakes and Midwest Conferences and teams are looking to jump out to the top of the standings with strong efforts in their first matches. Looking forward to this weekend, there are a couple matchups to keep an eye on in both the Premier I Divisions and the newly created Club vs. Club Divisions.
Great Lakes Conference
In the Great Lakes Conference, the inaugural season of the Boys Club vs. Club Division will kick off with Kings Hammer Academy (OH-S) taking on Javanon FC (KY) this Saturday in Cincinnati, Ohio. This matchup between the two clubs will see the 15U, 16U, 17U, and 19U boys teams within the Club vs. Club Division battle it out for an early positioning in the standings.
A number of boys and girls Premier I Division matchups will take place this weekend in the Great Lakes Conference as some teams will look to start their season with a win and others will look to build off of their first matches. One match to keep an eye on would be in the Girls 14U Premier I Division, as Indiana Fire 06 (IN) will host CUP 06 Gold (OH-S) in Indianapolis, Ind.
These two teams met in the Great Lakes Conference 14U Premier I Division during the 2019 Fall season, when CUP earned a 3-0 victory. However, the Fire edged out CUP in the standings to finish second ahead of CUP’s third place. Fire will look to start its season with a win over one of the only two teams to hand it a loss in the fall season. This will be CUP’s second match of the season as it is coming off a tie against TFA Elite 06 (OH-S) earlier this week, but it will be looking to repeat the result of its last meeting with Indiana Fire to take an early lead on the division standings.

Midwest Conference
In the Midwest Conference, Lou Fusz Athletic (MO) will host Libertyville FC 1974 (IL) on Sunday in St. Louis, Mo., for each club’s first matches in the Boys Club vs. Club Division. The clubs’ 15U-19U boys teams within the division will be looking to get off to a positive start to set the tone for the rest of the season. The 05 and 01 Libertyville sides both had top three division finishes in the 2019 spring season and are looking to capitalize on last season’s success.
