FRISCO, Texas (March 24, 2021) — Following three exciting events that featured US Youth Soccer National League Playoffs, 48 teams across the 14U, 15U, 16U, 17U, 18U and 19U Boys and Girls age groups have qualified to compete in the 2021 US Youth Soccer National Championships.
By way of their success in the 2020-21 National League Playoffs, the group winners in each age group, along with second-place finishers in each bracket in the 14U age group, have earned a direct path to the USYS National Championships. Annually, the final leg of the nation's most elite and prestigious cup competition provides teams with the opportunity for additional exposure to collegiate and national staff scouts as well as a chance to capture the USYS National Championship title in their respective age group.
During the 2020-21 National League Playoffs, the Desert Conference saw the most teams advance to the National Championships, as 10 teams won their groups. The Midwest Conference had the second-most qualifiers (seven) for Nationals, while the Frontier, Great Lakes and Mid Atlantic Conferences each had six. The Mid South, Pacific and Sunshine Conferences had three teams advance, while the Piedmont and South Atlantic Conferences each had two teams earn berths to Nationals. In total, 10 of the 13 National League Conferences are represented among the Playoff winners.

Utah led all US Youth Soccer State Associations with seven teams that qualified for the 2021 USYS National Championships through the National League Playoffs, while North Texas had six and Eastern Pennsylvania had four of its teams advance. In all, 22 different State Associations had at least one team qualify for the National Championships through the National League Playoffs.

About the National League
The National League operates its primary league play across 13 Conferences that operate at a multi-state tier and provide high-level competition at a targeted local level, as well as a pathway for advancement into the regional and national stages of the USYS National Championship Series. The National League Showcase Series and National League Playoffs represent the national tier of the National League, providing a platform for teams to compete in unique matches against uncommon opponents.
In the 2021-22 season, National League P.R.O. will debut as the competitive national tier platform — taking the place of the Playoffs as the National League competition that provides a direct pathway into the National Championships.

About the National Championships
The USYS National Championships cap a yearlong series of competitions that comprise the USYS National Championship Series. Boys and girls teams in multiple age groups earn their way by competing against the top teams in their state and region. US Youth Soccer State Champions and selected wildcard teams are eligible to compete in one of four US Youth Soccer Regional Championships. The Regional Champions in the 13U through 19U age groups, along with the National League representatives in the 14U-19U age groups, converge at the National Championships to compete for the most prestigious National title in youth soccer.
