Ames Soccer Club is a not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) youth soccer club based in Ames, Iowa. We offer soccer programming for U5 – U19 age players. We have approximately 200 players in the U5-U10 age groups and 320 players in the U11 – U19 age groups. We have three full time positions and are supplemented by many part-time coaches.

U13-U19 Technical Director

About Ames Soccer Club:

Ames Soccer Club is a not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) youth soccer club based in Ames, Iowa.  We offer soccer programming for U5 – U19 age players.  We have approximately 200 players in the U5-U10 age groups and 320 players in the U11 – U19 age groups.  We have three full time positions and are supplemented by many part-time coaches.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all functions and aspects of the U13 - U19 Age group for both girls and boys
  • Club Development League (CDL) representative
  • Compile and manage training schedule
  • Compile and manage game schedule (league, tournament, and friendly games)
  • Manage part-time coaching staff, including hiring and terminations
  • Supervise and educate part-time coaches
  • Design & implement curriculum
  • Coach teams
  • Oversee tryout and team formation process
  • Organize and coach in Winter Training Program
  • Assist in setting club’s annual budget

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • U.S. Soccer B-License or USC Premier Diploma, or UEFA equivalent license
  • Five or more years of leadership experience in youth soccer
  • Identifying, recruiting, hiring, mentoring, educating, and managing a staff of coaches
  • Demonstrated ability to develop coaches and players plus designing educational programs to enhance the development of the game
  • Excellent verbal, phone, and written communication skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Applicants must pass a background check
  • Preferred start date is March 1, 2022

Compensation:

  • Commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • Cell phone stipend
