Description:

High Country Soccer Association (HCSA), a youth soccer club based in Boone, NC, has an immediate need to fill the position of Director of Coaching (DOC). HCSA offers a travel soccer program, junior academy program, junior challenge program, winter and fall camps and clinics, one spring and one fall tournament, and an adult league. We would like to begin interviewing candidates by October 15, 2018.

Director of Coaching: One full-time position available. Position reports to the Executive Director. The DOC will supervise HCSA’s coaching staff and programs, and is responsible for meeting the club's overall objectives relative to player and team development.

Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:

    • Oversee, evaluate, recruit, mentor, develop, and manage 2-3 full-time technical directors and 15-20 contracted coaches to implement the club philosophy, style of play, and curriculum.

    • Responsible for tracking player development, retention, and success.

    • Create, direct, and lead the camps and clinics programs.

    • Coach one or more travel teams as necessary.

    • Responsible for parent education including understanding of the game/rules and club philosophy.

    • Responsible for developing and implementing new programs to increase membership.

    • Responsible for facility management, scheduling, and maintenance.

    • Responsible for managing HCSA’s website and online registration system.

    • Be the face of HCSA: Advocate for the club in the local community and maintain statewide connections.

    • Work with the Executive Director and board of directors to ensure the overall well-being of the club.

 

Requirements:

1. Minimum License: USSF C License or NSCAA Advanced National Diploma or equivalent. National Youth License and/or Director of Coaching Diploma is preferable

2. Education: Preferred minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school in either business administration, kinesiology, physical education, or sports-related or education-related disciplines.

3. Coaching Experience: At least 5 years’ experience coaching youth soccer at a competitive high level. Previous experience in a technical leadership role highly desired.

4. Playing Experience: Experience that demonstrates strong skills and soccer knowledge; college or professional level highly desirable.

Compensation: $42,000, no benefits.
