Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Supports operations, marketing and sponsor activation as well as digital communications of NJYS events (e.g. ODP, State Cups, Coaching Schools). Responsible for ensuring that events are organized, implemented, successfully branded in-person and online. This is a part-time role that includes responsibilities on evenings and weekends. Reports to the NJYS Events Coordinator and supports the NJYS ODP & Coaching Schools Coordinators.

Description:

JOB OVERVIEW:

Supports operations, marketing and sponsor activation as well as digital communications of NJYS events (e.g. ODP, State Cups, Coaching Schools). Responsible for ensuring that events are organized, implemented, successfully branded in-person and online. This is a part-time role that includes responsibilities on evenings and weekends. Reports to the NJYS Events Coordinator and supports the NJYS ODP & Coaching Schools Coordinators.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates on-site logistics for NJYS events:

  • Annual General Meeting
  • Coaching Schools Courses
  • ODP
  • State Cups
  • Promotional & Special Events
  • TOPSoccer

• Assists with coordination and organization of NJYS events.
• Serves as a primary contact and liaison for select NJYS events for operations and logistics.
• 
Responsible for on-site marketing to ensure that the NJYS brand is visible across event activations and engagement opportunities.
• 
Aids with NJYS sponsor activations as applicable at events.
• 
Coordinates digital communications (e.g. social media, press releases, website) related to events.
• 
Provides recaps and reporting post-event.
• 
Assists with coaching schools courses administration (e.g. registration and communication).
• 
Assists with other administrative tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field

Experience:

  • 2 to 5 years of event operations experience.
  • Ability to coordinate and motivate a team.
  • Ability to adjust to change and adopt a flexible approach that shifts according to the situation.
  • Experience dealing with various technologies including applications, databases, computer hardware, and general networking principles.

Specialized Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Project) and SharePoint
  • Detail oriented with excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Understanding of youth soccer player and coach registration
  • Critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong judgment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide results under stressful or high-pressure situations
  • Comfortable being active for an extended period of time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Additional Knowledge and Skills:  Youth Soccer
  • Knowledge of online registration

Work Environment: Evening and weekend hours will be required as the primary focus.

Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move event equipment.
