Job Description

Oversees day-to-day club operations

  • Responsible for leading the club in a manner that supports and guides the club’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for all club operations including, but not limited to scheduling of fields, organization of field preparations and maintenance, league schedules, referee assignments, and organization of club-run leagues and tournaments.
  • In partnership with the Board, produces, updates and manages the strategic and operational plan and budget that reflects long term objectives of the club.
  • Hire and manage the club’s Technical Director, coaches and administrative staff and ensure all staff work toward fulfilling the club's mission, values and objectives.
  • Actively recruits committee members and volunteers. Facilitates and develops club committees as well as assisting in organization, monitoring activities, and ensuring effective transition between years.
  • Keeps Board well informed (on a timely basis) of significant issues affecting the development and delivery of programs and services.
  • Responsible for tracking and analyzing ongoing metrics such as outstanding player fees and club enrollment figures.

Financial Management

  • Responsible for fiscal integrity of the club, to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
  • Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating withing the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.

Establish and maintain the club’s business relationships

  • Negotiate contracts/service agreements and maintain relationships with the club’s suppliers and vendors.
  • Solicit and manage bids for purchase orders and contracts.
  • Build and continue to develop positive relationships with community partners regarding field usage, indoor facilities, and other related issues.
  • Manage external community partnerships, business sponsorships, and other club relationships.
  • Ensure club compliance with relevant organizations (Kentucky Youth Soccer Association, Kentucky Premier League, Kentucky Sports Soccer League, etc)

Club Communications and Marketing

  • Draft and distribute all primary club communications and announcements
  • Develop and oversee all external communications and promotions
  • Communicate with parents, players, and the community for effective implementation of all the club’s programs.
  • Create, implement and monitor a comprehensive development plan including solicitation of corporate sponsors, scholarships for underprivileged players, and other fundraising activities as needed
  • Implement marketing campaigns to improve club’s brand awareness and drive increased player counts

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication skills, especially interpersonal verbal communications
  • Comfortable addressing and presenting to teams and large groups Education and Experience
  • A four-year college degree
  • A background in association management strongly preferred
  • Experience in management, business, marketing, accounting and/or finance.
  • Prior soccer experience or other youth sports experience (playing, coaching and/or running a youth soccer organization) is a plus
  • Field operations, sports facilities management, and ongoing scheduling experience highly desired
