North Storm Age Group Director - U13-U15


TBAYS North Storm, located on the shores of Lake Michigan in beautiful Traverse City, MI, is seeking a full-time Age Group Director to oversee coach and player development across the U13-U15 age groups and to help staff teams and developmental programming for the club's 300+ premier participants. This position includes access to paid continuing soccer education, licensing, and professional development.

General Summary: The U13-U15 Age Group Director position runs the day-to-day coaching operations for all club teams U13-U15. The position is responsible for ensuring  U13-U15 coaching staff are creating learning opportunities for our players that 1) are consistent with our club’s throughlines, 2) are reflective of curricular and instructional best practices, and 3) advances the overall strategic plans of the club. The position oversees player development and works collaboratively with the person serving as the point for age-group technical programming to best promote player development for both boys and girls within that age range. The position is restricted from performing similar duties for other clubs or organizations without prior written approval from the Club President. 


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coach 3 teams per season

  • Staff technical trainings, camps, clinics

  • Serve as a mentor to new/assistant coach(es) as assigned

  • Manage day-to-day U13-U15 coach operations

    • Oversee age group coaching

    • Ensure all kids are receiving age-appropriate curriculum in a way that is consistent with club-identified best training practices 

  • Collaborate with other directors and coaches to oversee U13-U15 player development

    • Are the club’s Throughlines being advanced?

      • Soccer should be fun

      • Age-appropriate Tactical Development

      • Age-appropriate Technical Development

    • Collaboratively develop curriculum and player development plans for all teams within your age group 

  • Other duties as assigned



  • Licenses: USSF “C” License or higher or comparable equivalent

  • Experience: 3-5 years coaching experience

  • Skills:

    • Team player with a strong ability to collaborate

    • Strong interpersonal skills with a recognized ability to build and maintain relationships across all stakeholder groups - players, parents, colleagues, community members, Board members

    • Strong conflict resolution skills

    • Detail-oriented and ability to produce accurate results

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Proficiency using spreadsheets, word documents, and slideshows

    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

      • Manage communications in a professional and timely manner

      • Meet deadlines

    • Excellent prioritization, organizational and problem solving skills
