POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations and Event Manager is a fulltime, salaried position that is responsible for assisting with the administration and execution of all US Youth Soccer events. Duties include customer service, managing timelines, competitions scheduling, budget development, leading contracted staff and volunteers, and serving as onsite support for all assigned events. The Operations and Event Manager reports to the Director of Competition and Event Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead communication with West Region State Associations in collaboration with West Region Representative.
  • Assist West Region Representative with administrating West Region Council meetings.
  • Manage and coordinate US Youth Soccer West Region event operations.
  • Co-lead with Senior Manager of ODP (Olympic Development Program) in preparation and organization of all US Youth ODP event operations.
  • Co-coordinate with Senior Manager of ODP on all administrative and logistics for ODP events.
  • Assist Senior Manager of ODP with travel arrangements for ODP Staff.
  • Manage facilities preparation and take-down.
  • Obtain all permits necessary for each event.
  • Coordinate and Interact with vendors and merchandisers.
  • Ensure proper medical services are provided at each facility.
  • Coordinate college coaches and hospitality areas for each facility.
  • Coordinate and analyze post –event surveys from players, coaches, and parents to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Understand the bylaws, policies, and programs of US Youth Soccer.
  • Any other duties as specifically requested by the Director of Competition and Event Operations.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or related prior employment experience preferred.
  • Excel in managing multiple projects concurrently with strong detail, problem solving and follow-through.
  • Experience working with volunteers, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds at US Youth Soccer events.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Prior work experience with youth soccer or other youth sports administration is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must be collaborative team member willing to provide support when and where needed.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals, multi-task, and resolve matters effectively.
  • Bilingual language skills are a plus.
