Regional Leadership

  • Manage and lead the Directors of Coaching within the region in line with the club and regions values, priorities, and objectives
  • Support the growth and development of full-time regional staff
  • Support the implementation and development of regional programming in line with corresponding club objectives
  • Work closely with Regional Manager in the operational and budgetary management

Regional Coach Development

  • Lead, Develop and Deliver on all regional coach development aimed at achieving the outcomes within the Player Development Plan (PDP)
  • Support the development of a coach assessment tool and process that identifies areas of need and prioritizes them in line with the objectives of the PDP
  • Implement a consistent and appropriate Individual Coach Development Plan that is applicable and reinforced with every Rapids coach at the club
  • Support the learning of F/T CRYSC members of staff in relation to the PDP and their own personal development
  • Create a coach mentor program within your region that increases the levels of support available to Rapids coaches and focuses on the specific needs of development general as well as specifically in relation to PDP topics
  • Reinforce, educate and actively deliver to regional coaches in their understanding of Rapids ‘style of play’ and ‘behaviors’
  • Plan an annual calendar of education within the region that suits the needs of coaches at Recreational, Select and Competitive level in relation to the PDP
  • Contribute to the creation of new and innovative regional education opportunities that underpin the PDP and its associated areas such as methodology, behaviors, style of play, system of play and others.
  • Contribute to club wide activities aimed at furthering coach development such as club wide in-service, residential in-service and domestic and international study visits
  • Support the creation of online content and resources underpinning the PDP

Coach Recruitment

  • Work to support the creation of coach recruitment tools and projects that seek to attract new, developing and experienced coaches that are able to assist in realizing the ambitions of CRYSC as a whole club
  • Collaborate on the creation and delivery of club wide and regional coach recruitment projects aimed at sharing our messages on ‘who we are’, ‘what we do’ and ‘how we do it’.
  • Support the delivery and evolution of Rapids ‘Onboarding’ that sets the standards, expectations and provides new coaches with the direction required to be successful for their players
  • Support the creation of Rapids certification capable of being delivered internally and externally of the club.
  • Identify and recruit coaches and staff in the style, mould and personality that will elevate Rapids coaching practice to a higher level at appropriate age groups
  • Deliver specific coach recruitment initiatives aimed at increasing the diversity of our coaching staff across under-represented groups such as females and various cultural communities.

Player Development

  • Work to implement the PDP at regional level that becomes visible in the development of players on the field via the reinforcement and practical delivery of key messages, innovative special projects and colleague collaboration
  • Understand and reinforce the Rapids Long Term Player Development plan
  • Reinforce, educate and actively deliver to players in their understanding of Rapids ‘style of play’ and ‘behaviors’ in particular
  • Collaborate with colleagues with regards to the creation of performance markers for the recreation and competitive program with regards to player and team progress (in relation to Rapids LTPD goals)
  • Ensure this comprehensive assessment of player progress that contributes to a year long understanding of player progress enabling an appropriate player placement process.
  • Collaborate with Director of Development and Recruitment with regards to her/his club wide focus on supporting coaches and players working at Select level specifically aimed at improving technical and positional specific skills
  • Implementation of club wide ‘special projects’ aimed at developing players in tandem with the Player
  • Development Plan objectives. E.g. Multi-Sport partnerships, cognitive learning, strength and conditioning etc.
  • Manage the regional implementation of Futsal as a key component of our development plan


  • Manage and deliver the parent education element of our key club messages revolving around PDP. Items such as ‘behaviors’, ‘club methodology’ and generally improving parental understanding of what we do and how we do it.
  • Positively promote consistent messaging via club endorsed channels the process of ‘The Rapids Way’ and it’s values.
  • Support Directors of Coaching in their day-to-day development and management of their program in a way that is consistent with ‘The Rapids Way’.
  • Adhere to the club’s 24 hour communication policy in all forms of communication; email and voicemail


  • Minimum USSF B-License or equivalent soccer industry qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of experience at player development level within a youth club/academy environment
  • Proven experience in management and development of staff
  • Proven track record of quality communication skills related to personal development of self and others
  • Experience of delivering coach education in a competitive/recreational capacity
  • Understanding and involvement in the development process involved in Strategic Technical Planning
  • Strong experience in the use of IT related software packages such as G-Suites and Microsoft.
  • Proven experience as a presenter

Salary: $70,000 - $75,000

Full-time employee benefits include PTO, employer sponsored medical, dental, and vision plans, 403b retirement plan with employer match, cell phone reimbursement, life insurance, and supplemental benefits. The Club will pay a portion of the medical benefit premiums.
