The Technical Director will be responsible for overseeing our competitive soccer program, its 600 members, and 40 coaches. This position will also have general oversight of our Recreational Director(s) and will oversee coaching education for the club. The Technical Director will report directly to the Executive Director.
About Lafayette Youth Soccer Association (LYSA) / Cajun Rush:
LYSA is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation that was established in 1978. As the second largest soccer association in the state of Louisiana, LYSA/Cajun Rush encompasses 3,300 members in programs ranging from recreational and competitive youth (Cajun Rush) to adult. LYSA/Cajun Rush, though its partnership with Lafayette Consolidated Government, has access to a multitude of facilities and maintains full programming options at its two main facilities, Moore Park and Youngsville Sports Complex as well as, a competitive branch in Alexandria (Cajun Rush Alexandria). LYSA/Cajun Rush is experiencing an exciting period for our club, while expanding opportunities and benefits available to its staff members.
Position Summary:
The Technical Director will be responsible for overseeing our competitive soccer program, its 600 members, and 40 coaches. This position will also have general oversight of our Recreational Director(s) and will oversee coaching education for the club. The Technical Director will report directly to the Executive Director.
The ideal candidate will be expected to recommend and execute strategies for player retention and recruitment as well as manage curriculums, team formation, and coaching development.
Required/Preferred Licenses:
- USSF “B” License or equivalent
- USSF “Y” License preferred
- 5 years as a Director at a youth club
- College or Professional playing experience preferred

- Excellent prioritization, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Team player with the ability to collaborate
- Possess the drive to aid in development of youth players and lead other coaches
- Ability to professionally represent LYSA/Cajun Rush in a variety of public settings
- Ability to foster and manage relationships with soccer clubs, programs and other local, national, and global partners
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
