Job Description
The Legion Futbol Club is passionately committed to the development and growth of soccer throughout Central Georgia.  Legion FC strives to be Central Georgia’s premier soccer club, to create a lifelong love of soccer and to impact the community beyond the sport of soccer.  The Legion FC Technical Director will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of all programs with a focus on implementation of curriculum and overseeing player development and team transitions from 7v7 to 9v9 and 9v9 to 11v11.  The Legion FC Technical Director will create and oversee Academy training and game schedules, help evaluate and develop the coaching staff, communicate with coaches, general administration, players and families, and work with program directors to identify players and player movement within those programs.  The Legion FC Technical Director will also work closely with the Board of Directors and Director of Coaching to identify areas within the community to help grow and develop Legion FC in the community.  
 
Summary of Potential Candidate
The Legion FC Technical Director should be passionate about the growth and development of the youth players in the club.  They should be dedicated to the long-term player development model laid out by the club.  They must be a good communicator with parents and children to ensure a positive overall soccer experience for the members of Legion FC.  They must be able to work with Directors and Coaches to maintain continuity across all levels of the club.  The Legion FC Technical Director must be a positive role model and willing to go into the community to inspire players and people within the community to grow the Legion Futbol Club. 
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Development and revision of the player development plan and curriculum at Legion FC.  This includes the creation of a player evaluation system.  
  • Assist in the formation of Academy and Select teams after tryouts.
  • Input of rosters and assisting with player cards for players to be properly registered with GA Soccer and USYS.
  • Manage players, parents, and coaches within the Legion FC programs on a day-to-day basis.
  • Recruit, maintain, educate and mentor coaching staff.  
  • Evaluate games and training sessions for the Academy program to ensure that the curriculum, mission and vision of the club are being executed properly.  
  • Assist in scheduling and monitoring of schedules for SDA, Rec and Academy Programs with the help of the DOC and SDA Directors.
  • Coordination with Referee Assignor before Academy weekends hosted at Legion FC’s complex.  
  • Identify and oversee player movement between all programs, specifically Rec and Academy.  
  • Identification of players that need to move into higher level programs within Legion FC though attendance of Rec and SDA games and training sessions throughout the season.  
  • Recruiting players to Legion FC from outside sources.  This is not limited to attendance of local middle school and high school games to identify players. 
  • Participate in and assist at all club events as directed by the Director of Coaching or Board of Directors.   This may include, but is not limited to, program tryouts, fundraising events, camps, education courses, ODP and tournament events hosted at the Legion FC facility.  
  • Create long term and short-term seasonal plans for Academy teams.  Guidance to these teams, parents and coaches should be provided by the Technical Director throughout the season.
  • Work in collaboration with DOC and SDA Director on any player camps and ID camps hosted by Legion FC.  
  • Work in collaboration with DOC and BOD to prepare the yearly field and office usage calendar.  This may include, but is not limited to, game competitions, fundraising events, camps, field maintenance schedules, education courses, ODP and tournament events.  
  • Work in collaboration DOC and SDA Director to provide a parent education program.
Preferred Requirements and Experience
  • USSF C License or Equivalent 
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience identifying and promoting players within the club and identifying and recruiting from outside of the club
  • Designing, implementing and evaluating curriculum and player development programs
  • Experience in working with and evaluating players and coaches
  • Experience working and coordinating tournaments, fundraising events and community events 
  • Comfortable working with members of the community
  • Experience coaching U9 to U19 competitive travel soccer
  • Leadership experience in a youth soccer club or program 
  • Parent, player and coach conflict resolution skills and experience
  • Strong communication skills, verbally and electronically
Salary
$40,000 per year with 1 team included, plus incentives
