Position Summary

The Senior Manager of Championship Events will be responsible for assisting with the administration and execution of all US Youth Soccer Regional and National Championship events. Duties include customer service, managing timelines, competitions scheduling, budget development, leading contracted staff and volunteers, and serving as onsite support for all assigned events. The Senior Manager of Championship Events reports to the Director of Competition and Event Operations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct USYS National Championship Events
  • Oversee regional Presidents Cup and National Championship Series Program Managers
  • Manage scheduling for all regional and national events
  • Organize and assist in launching the USYS Champions Cup
  • Manage and organize facility site visits and selection process for regional and national championships
  • Create and organize regional and national championship event experience opportunities for players and families
  • Oversee travel for referees and/or staff for National events
  • Manage facility preparation and take-down for National events
  • Obtain all permits necessary for all USYS Regional and National events
  • Coordinate and interact with vendors, merchandisers and event personnel
  • Create and manage standards for college coaches and hospitality areas for all USYS events
  • Coordinate and analyze post–event surveys from players, coaches, and parents to ensure quality and consistency
  • Travel to all National Championship events, Champions Cup and Regional Championships as needed.
  • Assist with preparation, packing, and shipping for all USYS events
  • Assist with USYS event operation partnerships
  • Manage regional budget submissions and P&L reports
  • Assist with creating and managing budgets for National Championships and Champions Cup
  • Understand the bylaws, policies, and programs of US Youth Soccer
  • Any other duties as requested by the Director of Competition and Event Operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or related prior employment experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with strong attention to detail, problem solving and follow-through
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds at US Youth Soccer events
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Advanced knowledge with GotSoccer/GotSport preferred
  • Prior work experience with youth soccer or other youth sports administration is desirable
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals, multi-task, and resolve matters effectively
