Each month, the National League recognizes one male and one female Player of the Month.
The players who are selected represent a balance of athletic achievement, sportsmanship and citizenship. Examples of these characteristics include:
- Recent impactful or notable in-game performance
- Displays good sportsmanship and the promotion of teamwork
- Community service
- Superior academic achievement
- Overcoming personal obstacles
While great performances in the game of soccer are appreciated, it's important to note that accomplishments off the field are also valuable.

Female Player of the Month
Mercedez from Philadelphia SC COPPA 05 Rage (PA-E)
Mercedez is a hardworking student-athlete who is an integral part of her team and community. Mercedez scored three goals in three games during the National League Playoffs in North Carolina to lead her Philadelphia SC Coppa 05 Rage team to win its playoff group and earn a spot at the National Championships in July. Off the field, Mercedez is a member of the National Honors Society, maintaining a 4.1 GPA. She also donates her time to the school lunch program helping to feed kids in the inner city their lunches while not full-time in school.
Male Player of the Month
Ryan from SC Wave 06 Boys (WI)
Ryan is a dedicated individual who put on an outstanding performance at the National League Playoffs in Orlando in March. He helped his team punch its ticket to the National Championships by scoring five goals and providing four assists during his team’s three games in Orlando. Ryan's game is described as unselfish with amazing vision on the field. At his high school, Ryan is a peer leader who works hard to maintain his 4.0 GPA and has been selected as student of the month.
Graycen from Sparta FC 02 Elite (TX-N)
Graycen is a prime example of showing resilience in the face of adversity. After sustaining significant injuries to both her right and left knees, she worked hard to rehab and return to the field. Graycen is now set to compete with her Sparta FC 02 Elite team in the National League Playoffs, in addition to leading the club's 04 team in goals and assists within the Frontier Conference. Graycen is a captain on her high school soccer team and is on pace to break the single-season scoring and assist record. Graycen has maintained A’s every semester since first grade, and she is currently ranked 12th in her class of 400 students while serving on multiple committees, including student council. She is also a University Interscholastic League participant in art.
Ryan from St. Mary’s Strikers Red (MD)
Ryan is a hard-working individual who puts as much effort in the classroom as he does on the field. Ryan receives straight A’s while attending middle school in Maryland. This past holiday season, Ryan organized a food drive with his teammates to help support his community. While playing for the St. Mary’s Strikers Red team in the South Atlantic Conference’s 13U Boys Premier I Division this fall, Ryan started and played every minute of each game. Playing the center back position on a three-man back line, Ryan helped his team secure five clean sheets. Their consistent performances helped Ryan and his team to concede the fewest goals in their division during the 2020 fall season.
Abby from Galaxy 04 Blue (IL)
Abby is an accomplished student-athlete who has been named to the National Honor Society and Academic All-Conference with a 4.4 GPA. As the keeper for Galaxy 04 Blue (IL), Abby maintained a 0.61 goals-against average during the 2019-20 season, with an 87% save percentage and 19 shutouts over 23 games. Described as an on-field leader, Abby recently helped Galaxy 04 Blue to a second-place finish in the Midwest Conference Club vs. Club Division this past fall. On top of her academic and athletic accomplishments, Abby has also made time to help out in her community as a foster dog volunteer, as well as an election judge and poll worker.
Enrique from Players SC 05 Elite (NV)
Enrique is a hard worker who leads by example both on the field and in the classroom. Off the field, Enrique has volunteered with his teammates at Three Square, helping pack food and supplies for those in need in the Las Vegas area. Enrique was one of the leading scorers last season in the National League and helped lead his team to an undefeated campaign in a shortened 2019-20 season. As a co-captain, Enrique has scored six goals in three games so far during the current Desert Conference season, including the game-winners in two come-from-behind wins to lead Players SC 05 Elite (NV) to a 3-0 start in the conference, where the team currently sits at the top of the standings.
