Semifinals match-ups decided at 2018 US Youth Soccer South Presidents Cup

Greenville, S.C. (June 15, 2018) – Semifinals match-ups are set at the 2018 US Youth Soccer South Presidents Cup in Greenville, S.C. The five-day event, which takes place June 13-17, kicked off Wednesday with 13U through 18U Boys and Girls teams starting the action at the MeSA Soccer Complex.

The event features more than 130 US Youth Soccer boys and girls teams competing for a regional title and a chance to advance to the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup, July 11-15 in Westfield, Ind

Semifinal matches will take place on Saturday, June 16, and regional champions will be crowned following final matches on Sunday, June 17.

South Carolina Youth Soccer Association is hosting the event, and the 11 other State Associations represented include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Texas, Oklahoma, South Texas and Tennessee.

The US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup offers teams the challenge of experiencing different types of play by competing from state to regional to national levels. The Presidents Cup provides teams with a progressive, competitive experience that highlights competition, camaraderie and community.

13-Under Girls
Austin Texans (TX-S) will advance to the semifinals by virtue of winning Group A. Texans defeated Cainhoy Hurricanes (SC) 2-0 on the final day of group play, but the Hurricanes will advance to the semifinals in the wildcard slot, and the two sides will face off again tomorrow in the semifinals. Sting Dallas 05 Roach (TX-N) secured first place in Group B with a scoreless draw against OCYS 2005 Purple (FL) and will play OK Energy Central Green (OK), which advanced to the semifinals out of Group C after a 1-0 win against Tennessee SC Premier (TN).

13-Under Boys
Music City Pachuca SC 05/06 (TN) and FC Dallas RGV 05 Red (TX-S) will play in the semifinals after both teams won on the final day of group play. Music City edged out Warner ASG Copa (FL) 3-2, while FC Dallas won 4-0 against IFC 05 Red (MS). Warner will also advance to the semifinals with a 2-1 record and will play Group B winners Georgia Express 05 Genoa (GA).

14-Under Girls
04 CVYSA Blast Blue (NC) secured a spot in the semifinals as a result of a 4-0 win against SG1 04 Black (TX-S). CVYSA will play FC Dallas WTX (TX-N), which earned the wildcard after a 4-0 win against Germantown TN Legends (TN). Lee County Strikers (FL) won Group B and will play Group C winners 04 WCWAA Black (NC), which ended group play with a 4-0 win against Aiken Futbol Club Sharks (SC.

14-Under Boys
Maya Halcones (TX-S) wrapped up group play with a 4-2 win against ESC 04 (SC) and will play wildcard South Orlando Soccer Club (FL) after the Florida side won 3-0 against Sporting Arkansas 04 Premier (AR). CFA Dalton 04 Elite claimed Group B after a 3-1 win against Solar 04 Haylock (TX-N) in a battle of 2-0 teams. CFA will play OEFC Central 04 Green (OK), which advanced to the semifinals after a 4-0 win against DC Galaxy 04 (MS).

15-Under Girls
Real Arkansas 03 Gold (AR) is heading to the knockout stage courtesy of a 2-1 win over DDYSC 03 Wolves Elite (GA) and will take on 03 BSC Cardinal (NC), which fell 4-1 to Sparta FC (TX-N) on the final day of group play. Sparta will play Alamo City SC 03 Gold (TX-S) in the other semifinals match after Alamo City won 3-1 against FC Dallas Tri 03/04.

15-Under Boys
ID Real Juve (TX-S) is headed to the semifinals as a result of a 1-1 draw with OEFC East (OK). Juve’s semifinals opponent will be Metro Jackson United (MS), which advanced as a wildcard despite a 1-0 loss to CFA Pachuca United 03 (SC). CFA will take on 03 CVYSA Blast Blue (NC) in the other semifinals match after the North Carolina side won 4-0 against Allianza Elite 03 (GA).
