
The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) is pleased to announce the Midwest Region coaching assignments for the 2019-20 season.
This month, the 2002-07 Boys and Girls are groups will gather for ID Camps. From here, the Midwest Region coaching staff will select players to compete in the ODP Girls Thanksgiving Interregional in Boca Raton, Florida, and the ODP Boys Interregional in Bradenton, Florida.

Midwest Region Boys Coaches
Mike Madigan is the 2002 Boys Head Coach. He is currently the Men's Soccer Head Coach at Wartburg College. Prior to his current role, he served as an assistant coach at George Washington University.
Jim Launder is the 2002 Boys Assistant Coach. Launder won an NCAA Championship as the Men's Soccer Head Coach at Wisconsin in 1995 and he served as an assistant coach for Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew. Launder has coached on the ODP Region Staff since 1989.
Dave Cook is the 2003 Boys Head Coach. He is currently the Men's Soccer Head Coach at the University of Mary. Since 2006 he has coached on the ODP Region Staff and he holds his USSF National "A" License.
Reid Ayers is the 2003 Boys Assistant Coach. He just wrapped up his 17th season as the Men's Soccer Head Coach at Baldwin Wallace University. Wallace has amassed more than 300 wins and he holds his USSF National "A" License. He is a member of the Ohio Youth Soccer Association North State Coaching Education Staff.
Eric Johnson is the 2004 Boys Head Coach. In 21 years as head coach of the Leatherneck men's team, he has taken six of his last 13 teams to the NCAA Division I Tournament. In 2016 he began to serve as head coach of the women's team.
Alan Bodenstein is the 2004 Boys Assistant Coach. He is currently a club coach in Indiana and he holds his USSF National "A" License.
Jeff Shuk is the 2004 Boys Goalkeeper Coach. Shuk holds his USSF National "A" License and is the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association Girls ODP Goalkeeping Director.
Nathan Hunt is the 2005 Boys Head Coach. He is currently the Director of Coaching Academy Affiliates with Major League Soccer's Sporting Kansas City.
Matt Briggs is the 2005 Boys Assistant Coach. He is currently a Men's Soccer Assistant Coach at the University of Nebraska Omaha. Briggs was most recently served as the Nebraska State Soccer Association Director of Coaching. Prior to this he as an assistant coach for NWSL's FC Kansas City and served as head coach at Bellevue University for nine seasons where he amassed 101 wins.
Adam Howarth is the 2006 Boys Head Coach. He is currently the Illinois Youth Soccer Director of Coaching/Technical Director. He previously served as the Men's Soccer Head Coach at Eastern Illinois University.
Adrian Parrish is the 2006 Boys Assistant Coach. He is currently the Kentucky Youth Soccer Technical Director a position he has held since 2005. Prior to this, he was the Head ODP Coach and Coaching Education Instructor of New York State West Youth Soccer Association. He has served on the ODP Region Staff since 2006.
Anton Trifonovos is the 2006 Boys Goalkeeper Coach. He has served on the ODP Region Staff since 2014 and he is a club coach in Ohio.
Ian Barker is the Region Head Coach. Since 2012, Barker has served as the United Soccer Coaches Director of Coaching Education Products and Programs. From 1999-2012, he served as the Men's Soccer Head Coach at Macalester College and prior to this he was an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Midwest Region Girls Coaches
Markus Roeders brings his tremendous resume to the 2002 Girls as their head coach. Roeders is currently the head coach of the Marquette women's soccer team and in the fall he will be entering his 24th year at the helm. In 23 seasons, Roeders has amassed 319 wins and 13 NCAA Tournament appearances
Paul Webster is the 2002 Girls Assistant Coach. This fall, Webster will be entering his 15th season as the head coach at Elmhurst College. Prior to his current role, he spent nine seasons at Elon University. In 23 seasons at the collegiate level, Webster has won more than 190 matches.
Luke Baxter is the 2002 Girls Goalkeeper Coach. He is currently the Nebraska State Soccer Association Pre-ODP Development Program Director and he has served as a volunteer assistant coach on the Creighton women's soccer staff since 2016.
Rob Miller is the 2003 Girls Head Coach. He is currently a Notre Dame College Women's Soccer Assistant Coach a position he started in 2011. In 2016, he helped guide Notre Dame College to its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. He has coached on the ODP Region Staff since 2005.
Phil Nielsen is the 2003 Girls Assistant Coach. He is currently on the U.S. U23 and U17 Women's National Team Staff most recently serving as an assistant at the 2018 Nordic Cup in Norway. Nielsen holds his USSF National "A" License.
Lauren Arnold is the 2003 Girls Goalkeeper Coach. She previously served as an Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Ball State University.
Kirk Nelson is the 2004 Girls Head Coach. Nelson is currently an Associate Head Women's Soccer Coach at Missouri State University, a U.S. Soccer Youth National Team Scout, U.S. Soccer National Coaching Education Instructor, and the Missouri Youth Soccer Association Technical Director. He holds his USSF National "A" License and has been an ODP Region Staff Coach since 2004.
Mark Sheldon is the 2004 Girls Assistant Coach. Sheldon is currently the Women's Soccer Head Coach at Baker University. Prior to his current role, he was the Director of Coaching at the Kansas Youth Soccer Association. He holds his USSF National "A" License and also serves as a U.S. Soccer Scout.
Paul Jennison is the 2004 Girls Goalkeeper Coach. He is currently an assistant coach at Northwestern University. He previously served as a staff coach at U.S. Soccer's Training Centers.
Mike Dickey is the 2005 Girls Head Coach. More than 80 players in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) have played under Mike Dickey, which includes nine players who represented the U.S. Women's National Team at the 2016 Olympics. Dickey has coached at the international level, most recently as the head coach for the Jordan Women's National Team. Additionally, he was a U.S. National Team Head Coach for the U14, U15, and U17 women's teams.
Bonnie Young is the 2005 Girls Assistant Coach. Young's professional career included time with the New York Power (WUSA) and Chicago Red Stars (NWSL). She is currently a club coach in Colorado.

Lis Berg is the 2006 Girls Assistant Coach. She brings international experience to the ODP Midwest Region as she previously served as the Technical Adviser for Uganda's Women's National Football Team from 2012-25. She also has served as an assistant women's soccer coach at Arkansas State University and the University of MN, both Division I programs. She holds her USSF National "A" License and she is a U.S. Soccer Scout.
Tiffany Hansen is the 2006 Girls Goalkeeper Coach. She is entering her fifth season as an assistant coach with the University of Michigan women's soccer team.
Maren McCrary is the Girls Region Head Coach. She previously served as the Women's Soccer Head Coach at College of Saint Mary and as the Director of Coaching at Nebraska State Soccer. She holds her USSF National "A" License.
