Timbers Alliance Showcase and PacNW Winter Classic featured on Northwest Conference schedule

FRISCO, Texas (Aug. 24, 2018) — The US Youth Soccer National League Northwest Conference is excited to continue partnerships with two of the premier events in its region — the Timbers Alliance Showcase and the PacNW Winter Classic.

The Timbers Alliance Showcase will take place Dec. 7-9 around the Portland, Ore., metro area, and Northwest Conference teams will also compete Jan. 18-21 at the PacNW Winter Classic at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, Wash.

The Northwest Conference will play alongside the two events, which will feature competition for the 15U through 19U Boys and Girls age groups. With Northwest Conference teams competing in meaningful games that will impact their final standing for the 2018-19 season, the events provide a prime opportunity for college coaches to scout players.

“The Timbers Alliance Clubs are looking forward to partnering with the US Youth Soccer National League to bring the Northwest Conference games to our third annual Timbers Alliance Showcase,” said Dan Macaya, College Coordinator for the Washington Timbers Football Club. “Hosting some of the top teams and individual talent from around the Northwest at our premier facilities will be special. We look forward to attracting more college coaches to this year’s event. Partnering with US Youth National League Northwest Conference will most definitely help in accomplishing that goal.”

Meanwhile, the PacNW Winter Classic is holding its 11th annual tournament, and more than 125 college coaches attended last year’s event.

“PacNW Soccer Club is excited to again be hosting games for the Northwest Conference. This is our sixth year in a row we’ve partnered up and, as always, our goal is to provide great exposure to the Northwest’s top teams to some of the best colleges in the country,” said Todd Johnson, Tournament Director for the PacNW Winter Classic. “Each year, we’ve been able to grow the event while continuing to provide a great tournament atmosphere. We are looking to hosting the Northwest Conference teams again in 2019.”

The Northwest Conference is one in a network of 13 conferences that comprise the multi-state tier of the US Youth Soccer National Leagues program. Each conference provides high-level competition with opportunities for advancement to the US Youth Soccer Regional Championships and the US Youth Soccer National League.

“The Northwest Conference is pleased and excited to continue our partnerships with both the Timbers Alliance Showcase and the PacNW Winter Classic,” Northwest Conference Manager Chris Webb said. “Both of these events have proven to be premier college showcase events in this region of the country, and Northwest Conference teams will be able to experience professionally organized events, in addition to great exposure to all levels of college programs.”
