2022 US Youth Soccer Far West Presidents Cup Concludes Sunday in Phoenix, AZ

PHOENIX, Arizona (June 19, 2022) – More than 130 teams competed at the 2022 US Youth Soccer Far West Presidents Cup at the Reach 11 Sports Complex in Phoenix, Arizona, this week.
Thousands of families, coaches, referees, and college coaches were on hand as teams from more than 11 State Associations competed for a spot at the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup in Greensboro, North Carolina, later this summer.
California-South led the field with five teams being crowned champions. Nevada took three regional champions and the host state of Arizona finished with two. Colorado, Idaho, Montana and Utah all finished with one regional champion each.

Notes on some of the Far West Presidents Cup winners:
13U Boys
Anaheim Futbol Club Anaheim FC B2009 Aguirre (CA-S) defeated Timbers-Thorns North FC 09B Red (ID-PC) 2-0 in the championship match. Anaheim FC displayed its offensive prowess during the tournament with 15 goals in four games.
14U Girls
Las Vegas Surf Soccer Club (NV) finished as champions after securing a 2-1 win over Rapids FC (CO). Leading up to the championship match, Las Vegas Surf Soccer had kept all opponents scoreless while adding 15 goals of their own.
15U Boys
Roadrunners United FC (CA-S) secured the 15U Boys championship with a 2-0 victory over Sound FC (WA). The California-South squad ended up with two wins during group play and nine total goals.
16U Girls
Wasatch SC (UT) found themselves in a tough match against Real Colorado Edge (CO) but ultimately secured a 2-1 win the claim the 16U Girls Far West Presidents Cup title. Wasatch had a great showing, scoring 12 goals during group play and only conceding two.
17U Boys
Players SC (NV) from Nevada took the crown for the 17U Boys age group with a 4-2 win over Futbolito Bimbo Soccer League Tuzos Jrs. (AZ). Over the course of the tournament, Players SC recorded 18 goals over its opponents.
18U Girls
The Missoula Strikers (MT) claimed the 18U Girls title with a 2-1 win over Northern Utah United Tsunami (UT). The Montana team started off strong with a 3-1 win over Albion SC Central Cal (CA-S) during group play and maintained a strong defensive performance throughout the tournament.
19U Boys
RSL-AZ Yuma (AZ) defeated California Elite SC (CA-S) to claim the 19U Boys Far West Presidents Cup title. The Arizona team finished second within Bracket C at the conclusion of group play but saved their best for last, securing two wins in the knockout stage.
The US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup consists of regional champions in the 13U-19U Boys and Girls age groups and will be held from July 7-10 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
