
Regional Winners Crowned as 2022 US Youth Soccer Southern Presidents Cup Concludes Sunday in Frisco, TX

FRSICO, Texas (June 19, 2022) – More than 150 teams competed at the 2022 US Youth Soccer Southern Presidents Cup at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas, this week.
Roughly 375 people were on hand as the teams competed for a spot at the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup in Greensboro, North Carolina, later this summer.
North Texas led the field with seven teams being crowned champions with South Texas close behind with three. North Carolina finished with two, while Tennessee and Louisiana both had one.

Izzy Zamora, head coach of Deer Park Soccer FC Maroon 05 DDL (STX), was proud of the determination that his team showed this weekend, earning a spot at National Presidents Cup. Deer Park picked up three wins and two draws over the weekend, highlighted by a dominating 3-0 a North Texas team for the championship title.
“We’ve put in tons of work, day in and day out,” said Coach Izzy Zamora “I’m excited we made it this far and it’s not over for us. We’re hungry, we want more. We’re ready for whatever they throw at us.”
A Deer Park player also described what he was looking forward to when his team steps onto the pitch in Greensboro, North Carolina later this summer.
“Each and every one of us, we’ve been growing since day one,” said Nathan Martinez, a player from Deer Park Soccer FC. “We’ve made it this far and we’re ready to move onto North Carolina.”

Notes on some of the Southern Presidents Cup winners:
13U Boys
FC Legends UTD 09 Red (NTX) came to dominate their opponent Saints ASC 09 Ross (NTX) for the championship title. FC Legends’ offense was unstoppable and took it to the net twice to bring their team up 2-0 before the final whistle blew.
13U Girls
Charlotte Soccer Academy 09 North/Hville Roma (NC) came out hungry for a championship win. With Charlotte’s defense kept their opponent DKSC 09 Hernandez (NTX) from scoring a single goal in the entire 90 minutes, Charlotte had a relatively easy 1-0 win regardless of the Texas heat.
14U Boys
Aztecas Futbol Club 08 PBF (NTX) had a tough and well-fought battle against Azzuri Storm 08 Premier (FL). Both teams’ defenses held each other from scoring until finally, the Blackhawks offense managed to hit the back of the net. Azzuri Storm had many chances to redeem themselves, but ultimately the Aztecas celebrated their one-goal victory (1-0) as they clinched a spot in National Presidents Cup.
14U Girls
Villarreal NTX 08 (NTX) came out hungry for a championship win against their opponent MS Rush 08 Premier (MS). They had a great battle, as both teams worked hard to keep each other from the goal. Check out the interview with Villarreal on USYS YouTube.
15U Boys
Rayos FC 07 Martinez (NTX) came out hungry for a championship win. With their opponent OKC 405 FC Man 07 (OK) not scoring a single goal in the entire 90 minutes, Deer Park had a relatively easy 3-0 win regardless of the Texas heat.
15U Girls
Both Kernow Storm FC 07 Fogle (NTX) and Germantown Lady Legends 07 Black (TN), had a tough time keeping each other out of the box and into the net. With the game tied at 2-2 at the 90-minute whistle, they went into overtime to see who would come out on top. Kernow Storm had a hard-fought battle to take the championship title with their 3-2 win against Germantown.
16U Boys
Both goalkeepers, from Bayern Munich 06 White (NTX) and Mandeville Soccer Club Lakers Elite 06 (LA), had a tough time keeping their opponents out of the box and into the net. With the game tied at 3-3 at the 90-minute whistle, they went into overtime to see who would come out on top. 16U Girls
Aspire FC 06/07 Black DDL (STX) came to dominate their opponent Tri-Cities United 06/07 Premier (TN) for the championship title. Aspire’s offense was unstoppable and took it to the net twice to bring their team up 2-0 before the final whistle blew.
17U Boys
Deer Park Soccer FC Maroon 05 (STX) came out hungry for a championship win. With their opponent Avanti Soccer Academy 05 Red (NTX) not scoring a single goal in the entire 90 minutes, Deer Park had a relatively easy 3-0 win. Check out the interview with Deer Park on USYS YouTube.
17U Girls
Charlotte Independence SC 05 South Matthews Blue (NC) went leg to leg with Lady Lobos Rush 05 Elite (TN) as they went into the second half up 2-1. They had a great battle in the second half, as both teams worked hard to keep each other from the goal. Unfortunately, Lobos couldn’t hold Charlotte’s offense as they took it to the net twice to bring their team up 4-1 before the final whistle blew.
18U Boys
Lincoln FC DFW 04 (NTX) went leg to leg with Desoto FC 04 Premier (MS) as they went into the second half tied 1-1. They had a great battle in the second half, as both teams worked hard to keep each other from the goal. Lincoln FC’s offense was unstoppable and took it to the net twice to bring their team up 3-1 before the final whistle blew.
18U Girls
Last year’s 17U Southern Presidents Cup Champions, Jackson SC 04 (TN) came out hungry for yet another championship win. They dominated their opponent Baton Rouge SC 03/04 Red (LA) as their defense kept them from the back of the net for the entire 90 minutes. Check out the interview with Jackson SC on USYS YouTube.
19U Boys
HTSA Blackhawks 03 (LA) had a tough and well-fought battle against The Soccer Pit Cobras 03 (FL). Both teams’ defenses held each other from scoring until finally, the Blackhawks offense managed to hit the back of the net. The Cobras had many chances to redeem themselves, but ultimately the Blackhawks celebrated their one-goal victory (1-0) as they clinched a spot in National Presidents Cup.
19U Girls
Both McAllen YSA Dynamo 03 (STX) and Soccer Club of St Cloud (FL), had a tough time keeping each other out of the box and into the net. With three goals in the first fifteen minutes of the game, they were tied 3-2 at the halftime whistle with Dynamo leading. Dynamo had a hard-fought battle to take the championship title with their 4-3 win against St Cloud.
The US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup consists of regional champions in the 13U-19U Boys and Girls age groups and will be held from July 7-10 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
