VALLEY FORGE, Pennsylvania (June 20, 2023) – More than 100 teams competed June 16-20 at the 2023 Eastern Presidents Cup in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. Games were played at The Proving Grounds in Conshohocken and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in Plymouth Meeting with a trip to US Youth Soccer’s National Presidents Cup on the line.
USYS’ East Region, which has 15 State Associations, will send 26 teams to the national competition held July 7-11 in Wichita, Kansas. New Jersey teams had a strong showing this past week and will send the most representatives out of the East’s State Associations with six.
Daynor Garcia, head coach of Team America 04 Bata (VA), talked about what his team will take away from competing at Eastern Presidents Cup.
“We’re using all of these games to really bond together and get the chemistry that we need to play higher-level teams. I know we have a lot of experience going to Nationals, and we know that’s another level.”
Garcia echoed that sentiment by sharing what the last week has meant for his team.
“All these games help. It brings our team together, (with) the celebrations, all the memories that we’re gonna have. It’s going to carry our pride over to Nationals.”
