Tickets Punched to Walt Disney World® at the 2022 US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Championships

WESTFIELD, Indiana (June 29, 2022) – More than 220 teams competed at the 2022 US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Championships at the Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Indiana, this week.
Over 200 college coaches were in attendance as the teams competed for a spot at the US Youth Soccer National Championships at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, this July!
Illinois shined on stage with four teams being crowned champions, followed by Ohio (3), Kansas (3), Missouri (2), Minnesota (1), and Wisconsin (1) all having champions as well!

Maggie Richard, assistant coach of the Girls 14U – SLSG MO G 2008 (MO), was really impressed by the competition at the Midwest Regional Championships.
“It’s been great competition all around,” said Richard. “The atmosphere was great here, as well as teams from all over the Midwest playing. I am looking forward to the girls playing together for as long as we can go.”
Carly Swan, player for SLSG (MO) added to that sentiment.
“I love my team,” said Swan. “It’s all about bonding and how we all get along on the field. Our team just works so well together.”
Notes on some of the Midwest Regional Champions:
13U Boys
Barca Academy Chicago (IL) had an amazing showing at the Midwest Regional Championships. With a record of 5-0-0, the Illinois team scored 16 goals overall, while only letting 1 goal get by the whole tournament.
14U Girls
SLSG MO G 2008 (MO) team were able to come out on top due to their chemistry and how well they work together. With an impressive record of 5-0-0, the Missouri team dominated the competition and is hoping to continue their winning streak in Orlando.
15U Boys
JB Marine Academy Baum (MO) had an intense battle in the semi- final game against CUP 07B Gold (OH) with a final of 4-3. The Missouri team was able to come out on top against Iowa’s FC United in the final, winning 4-1. JB Marine Academy hopes to continue to represent their state in Orlando by winning a championship.
16U Girls
Chicago Inter 2006 Red (IL) was another Illinois team that went undefeated during the Midwest Regional Championship. Chicago Inter had a record of 5-0-0 and scored 17 goals throughout the tournament. Chicago earned their place at Regionals through National League P.R.O, which allowed the finalist DASC 2006 Girls Team (SD) to head to Orlando as well, making it the first South Dakota team at the National Championships.
17U Boys
FC Evolution N B05 (OH) had a spectacular performance in their final game against Chicago FC United (IL) with a final score of 4-0! Moreover, the Ohio team went 5-0-0 during the Midwest Regional Championship with 27 goals in total! FC Evolution is a talented team that will represent Ohio at the National Championship.
18U Girls
Another spectacular performance by an Ohio team, FC Evolution 04 GLC punching their ticket to the National Championships. FC Evolution came out on top with an undefeated record of 5-0-0. The Ohio team faced tough competition in the final two games against Indiana Fire Academy (IN) and Legends FC 2004 (MI) with the final scores of both games being 2-1.
19U Boys
SBV Academy 03 (KS) earned their ticket over Javanon 2003 Boys Black (KY) in the final match winning 2-1. Kentucky proved to be a tougher opponent for the Kansas team compared to 2003 Boys Premier I Black (MN) which SBV Academy came out on top 4-0. SBV is 1 of 3 Kansas teams hoping to win a National Championship!
The US Youth Soccer National Championships consists of regional champions in the 13U-19U Boys and Girls age groups, as well as the National League qualifiers in the 14U-19U Boys and Girls age groups.
The US Youth Soccer National Championships will be held from July 19-24 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
