Preliminary play concluded today at the 2012 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup,determining final pairings for tomorrow’s championship and consolation matches. Region III and Region IV led the way, each sending six teams to championship games. Region I will have three teams vying for a championship and Region II one.

In the second day of preliminary games at the 2012 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup, the Under-14 through Under-17 Boys and Girls teams were looking to move one step closer to competing in the championship games at the Cherry Island Soccer Complex in Sacramento, Calif.

Thirty-two teams from 14 different states took the field to vie for a chance to lift the National Presidents Cup trophy in the Under-14 through Under-17 Boys and Girls age groups.

The Under-19 Boys US Youth Soccer National Championship, James P. McGuire Cup, final will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer from Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C., beginning with a pre-game show at 7:30 pm ET and kickoff at 8 pm.

US Youth Soccer players Lisha Murphy, Newburgh, Ind., and Andrew Delarosa, Boise, Idaho, are the recipients of the fourth annual US Youth Soccer William J. "Billy" Goaziou Scholarships. Both teens play key roles on their soccer teams as well as in their communities.
